i-CARE project lunches 2020 International Conference on Assistive and Rehabilitation Technologies (iCareTech 2020)

The conference aimed to present and discuss thirty (30) scientific papers in the field of rehabilitation technology and assistive technology, with the participation of more than a hundred researchers from different countries, including Britain, Malaysia, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Italy, Ireland, Iraq and the Arab Republic of Egypt, and under the patronage of Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Shtayyeh, Prime Minister of Palestine, the University Al-Azhar - Gaza, and through the project to increase the consensus of academic institutions towards rehabilitation engineering (i-CARE) and their partners, lunched the International Conference on Assistive and Rehabilitation Technologies (iCareTech 2020), which will be held via zoom technology due to the covid-19 pandemic on Friday and Saturday 28-29 August 2020.

The opening session of the conference was launched through the zoom technique with the participation of His Excellency Dr. Osama Al Saadawi, Minister of Entrepreneurship and Empowerment, representing the State of the Prime Minister, Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayan, President of Al-Azhar University-Gaza, Dr. Nidal Al-Jayyousi, Director of the Office of the European Union Representation for Higher Education, and Engineer Adnan Samara, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Creativity and Excellence Dr. Ahmed Issa, president of the conference and director of the (i-CARE) project, Dr. Muhammad Aql, head of the preparatory committee for the conference, heads and members of the conference’s preparatory, scientific and media committees, and a group of academics and researchers interested in rehabilitation engineering, in addition to partners from European countries.

After the completion of the opening ceremony, three scientific sessions were held, the first dealt with the axis of rehabilitation devices headed by Prof. Dr. Sami Abu Nasser, and the second session dealt with the topic of medical information security headed by Dr. Muhammad Mushtaha, and the third session focused on the experience of non-civil international organizations in Palestine

Worth to mention that the International Conference on Assistive Technology and Rehabilitation 2020 (iCareTech2020) is a peer-reviewed scientific conference approved by the Society of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) to publish research in the IEEE Xplore® Digital Library classified within the Scopus Research Base. The conference is jointly organized by two international organizations specializing in the fields of rehabilitation engineering and technology, the Association for the Advancement of Assistive Technology in Europe (AAATE) and the Global Assistive Technology Information Network (EASTIN), which enhances the strength of the conference and its chances of success at the international level.
