i-CARE project organized the COPE Makeathon event to develop ideas and projects for students of engineering and physical therapy, it's an event organized for the second year in a row. COPE Makeathon conducted for two days from 8:00 to 17:00 at Hani Shawa Hall on Al Azhar University - Gaza, synchronize with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities IDPD, corresponding to December 3, 2018 each year.
The event aimed to highlight on technological and creative solutions to increase and enhance the access and integration of persons with disabilities in the educational environment to generate relevant creative and pioneering ideas in qualification engineering from both engineering and physical therapy students and build students ’skills in the field.
The i-CARE project has developed a partnership with Humanity and Inclusion (Hi) international organization to implement the event, this partnership aimed to intensify efforts for high benefits and results that are applicable and within the standards, as Hi International Corporation specializes in the field of persons with disabilities, and has held several specialized training in the field of inclusion standards Persons with disabilities in different area and in emergency situations.
The event was sponsored by the Higher Council for Innovation & Excellence, by offering prizes to the participating teams.
